    Gaming slang

    Good game. Said at the end, sincerely or not. 'GG EZ' is the rude version.

  2. The attention of an enemy: whoever it is attacking. Built up as threat; tanks want it, everyone else wants to lose it.

    Watch your aggro, the healer just pulled it off me.

    Wait for the tank to get aggro before you open.

  3. How close you can get to an enemy before it attacks. Bigger when it's higher level than you.

    Higher-level mobs have a huge aggro radius, hug the wall.

  4. The role that keeps the group alive. Priests, druids, shamans and paladins. Healing generates threat too, which is why healers get eaten when a tank loses aggro.

    Two healers is enough for Stratholme.

  5. Kite

    PvP

    To keep an enemy at range while damaging them, usually with snares: hunters, frost mages and any tank dragging a boss around.

    Frost mage kiting a warrior across the whole zone.

    Kite the adds through the fire.

    Excitement. From the PogChamp emote. 'Poggers' is the same, sillier.

  7. Proc

    WoW

    A random effect that triggers off something else — a weapon's chance on hit, a trinket, a talent. Short for 'programmed random occurrence'.

    Wait for the trinket proc, then Mortal Strike.

    Ironfoe procs extra swings.

    Bonus experience you earn while logged out in an inn or city: kills give double until it runs out.

    Log out in the inn to get rested.

    Gaming slang

    Dragging a line of enemies onto other players. Verb: to train.

    He trained the whole graveyard onto us and Vanished.

    Gaming slang

    The invisible shape that decides whether an attack lands.

    That hitbox is bigger than the model.

    When the game responds late because of your connection or the server. The universal excuse.

    Pickup group: strangers found in chat rather than a guild. Pug a dungeon, pug a raid.

    Pugging Stratholme was a mistake.

    Pug tanks are the hardest to find.

    WoW

    A simulation of a fight to estimate DPS for a gear set or rotation. Later WoW has SimulationCraft; vanilla relies on spreadsheets and logs.

    Sim says the dagger is a 2% upgrade.

    The first hit that claims a mob's XP and loot for you or your group.

    The class armor sets that drop in each raid tier: Tier 1 in Molten Core, Tier 2 in Blackwing Lair, Tier 3 in Naxxramas.
