1. Mob

   MMO

   Any computer-controlled enemy. 'Mobile object', from MUDs.

   “Ten mobs for the quest.”

   “Elite mobs hit like trucks.”

2. Elite

   WoW

   A mob with several times the health and damage of a normal one. Group quests and dungeons.

   “That's an elite, don't solo it at 30.”

3. Farm

   MMO

   Doing the same thing repeatedly for its rewards: bosses you've beaten, mobs that drop a material, an instance for a trinket.

   “Molten Core is on farm, it's a 90-minute clear now.”

   “Farming Devilsaur leather in Un'Goro.”

4. Gank

   PvP

   To attack someone who can't fight back: lower level, half health, mid-fight with a mob. World PvP's favourite word.

   “Got ganked in STV three times on the way to the quest.”

   “It's a PvP server, ganking is the game.”

5. Griefing

   Gaming slang

   Ruining other players' fun on purpose: pulling extra mobs onto them, training a boss, stealing tags.

   “Griefing the quest area by killing every NPC.”

6. Tag

   WoW

   The first hit that claims a mob's XP and loot for you or your group.

   “Tagged the rare, it's ours.”

7. Aggro radius

   WoW

   How close you can get to an enemy before it attacks. Bigger when it's higher level than you.

   “Higher-level mobs have a huge aggro radius, hug the wall.”
