1. Ping

   Esports

   Also: Latency

   Your latency to the server in milliseconds. Low is good. Also: marking a spot on the map.

   “Playing on 200 ping, every interrupt is late.”

   Gaming slang

   Waiting in one spot for a spawn, a player or a drop.

   “Camping the rare spawn for the trinket.”

3. Corpse camping

   PvP

   Waiting at someone's body to kill them again the moment they resurrect.

   “He camped my corpse for twenty minutes, I logged an alt.”

4. Interrupt

   Also: Kick

   Stopping a cast: Kick, Pummel, Counterspell, Earth Shock. Locks the target out of that spell school for a few seconds.

   “Interrupt the heal or we lose the fight.”

   MMO

   A copy of a zone on the same server, used to spread players out at launch. Layer hopping lets you reach fresh spawns.

   Using a bug to gain an advantage. Bannable when it's serious.

   “Wall-jumping into the instance was an exploit and they hotfixed it.”

7. Spawn

   Gaming slang

   Where or when an enemy, item or player appears. Respawn is the return after death.

   “The rare spawns every four hours.”

   “Spawn camping the graveyard is bad manners.”

   Someone who takes it too seriously. Insult or compliment depending on who's saying it.

   “Tryhard twinks camping the 19 bracket.”
