   Gaming slang

   Where or when an enemy, item or player appears. Respawn is the return after death.

   “The rare spawns every four hours.”

   “Spawn camping the graveyard is bad manners.”

2. Respawn

   Gaming slang

   Coming back after dying, or an enemy reappearing after being killed.

   “Trash respawns in two hours.”

3. Add

   Raiding & dungeons

   An extra enemy that joins a fight — a spawn during a boss or a patrol you didn't see.

   “Adds at 50%, off-tank picks them up.”

4. Camping

   Gaming slang

   Waiting in one spot for a spawn, a player or a drop.

   “Camping the rare spawn for the trinket.”

5. Layer

   MMO

   A copy of a zone on the same server, used to spread players out at launch. Layer hopping lets you reach fresh spawns.

   “He's on a different layer, invite him to swap.”

6. Reset

   When an instance's lockout ends and the bosses are back. Also: leaving a dungeon and re-entering to respawn everything.

   “Reset is Tuesday morning.”

   “Everyone out, we're resetting the instance.”

   The ordinary enemies between bosses. Trash drops, trash pulls, trash respawn timers.
