Level 49 Frost Mage twink build

This is a Frost PvP build because level-49 mage wins by controlling space, forcing trinkets, then killing inside freezes. The 35 Frost points reach Ice Barrier while still taking Elemental Precision for reliable Frost/Fire hits, Improved Frostbolt, Ice Shards, Shatter, Ice Lance, Fingers of Frost, Ice Block, Cold Snap, and shorter Frost Nova. The 5 Arcane points go into Arcane Focus so Polymorph and other Arcane tools are less likely to fail.

The gear is set near the PvP toughness knee rather than pure glass cannon. From the curve, balance 50 is the efficient breakpoint: about 1170 HP from gear for only a 5% throughput loss; pushing much higher starts trading noticeably more kill pressure for smaller gains. Key picks are the Defiler PvP boots for run speed, bonus armor and stamina, Sergeant cloak/cuffs for raw survivability, Radiant Staff for a big stamina/intellect package, and Frothing crafted pieces where Frost damage comes with stamina. Defiler's Talisman gives an emergency physical absorb, while Cleansed Vilebranch Icon keeps burst threatening.

Play defensively until you create a freeze. Keep Ice Barrier up, open with Polymorph when possible, then Frostbolt or Frozen Orb to pressure. Use Frost Nova into Ice Lance/Shatter damage, Cone of Cold to peel, and Cold Snap to repeat Nova/Ice Block/Barrier pressure. Ice Block is your panic button for lethal dots, melee connects, or enemy cooldowns. Use Icy Veins only when you have enough mana and a real kill window, not just because it is ready.
