Why it works

This is the classic Holy/Protection tank core: 11 Holy buys Consecration and stronger Seal of Righteousness threat, while 31 Protection reaches Holy Shield, Improved Righteous Fury, Toughness, Anticipation, Precision, Blessing of Sanctuary, and One-Handed Weapon Specialization. The 9 Retribution points reduce seal/judgement mana costs, lower Judgement cooldown, and add a little parry.

Gear prioritizes boss-tank fundamentals: Mark of C’Thun, Cryptfiend Silk Cloak, Band of Accuria, and Drake Fang Talisman combine with Precision for strong melee hit coverage; Helm of Domination, Pauldrons of the Unrelenting, Royal Qiraji Belt, Bloodsoaked Legplates, and Gauntlets of Steadfast Determination stack stamina, defense, armor, and avoidance. The Face of Death is the best supplied shield for raw armor, stamina, block chance, and block value, while Styleen’s Impeding Scarab is ideal for Holy Shield uptime value. Libram of Truth is chosen because more Devotion Aura armor is always useful on progression pulls.
