The talent split is built for bracket PvP rather than dungeon damage: 5/5 Improved Corruption makes Corruption instant, which is priceless while moving, juking and being trained; 5/5 Demonic Embrace adds a large stamina multiplier so every health enchant, stamina item and Life Tap decision gets better.

The gear leans into the survival/damage knee of the provided curve: around the 50–60 balance point you gain roughly 220–270 HP over the pure-damage set while only giving up about 1–2% standard throughput. The damage is still carried by the huge spell-power rings, Shadow crafted pieces, and A Lesson in Destruction, while Discarded Circlet, Corpsefeeder's Shedding, Surfer Shoes, Greatflank Flayer and the stamina neck make you much harder to kill. The crafted Tailoring pieces are realistic twink targets; the source-unknown pieces are treated as world-obtainable. Greater Insignia is mandatory PvP utility; use the Horde equivalent if needed. Transformative Cocoon is your panic absorb or reset tool, but use it where the self-stun will not get you immediately focused down.

Play by prebuffing Demon Skin, opening with Fear or Amplify Curse into Bane of Agony, then keeping Corruption and Bane rolling. Snare with Curse of Exhaustion while moving, Fear when the target is not controlled, and use Drain Life plus Vengeance/Demonic Grace when low. If a target is nearly dead, Drain Soul helps finish and recover shards; otherwise Searing Pain is your quick cast filler when you cannot safely stand still for longer casts.
