Why it works

This is a 21 Demonology / 9 Affliction control build. Soul Link, Demonic Embrace, Demonic Aegis, Fel Vitality and Fel Domination make you extremely hard to remove: your stamina scales up, Demon Armor gets stronger, damage is split into your demon, and Fel Domination plus Master Summoner lets you recover a killed pet. The Affliction points take instant Corruption and 4/5 Suppression, which is excellent in PvP because missed Fear, Corruption or Drain Life casts lose fights.

The gear is deliberately on the tough side: roughly 133 stamina from gear before Demonic Embrace, while still keeping strong shadow pressure. Key crafted pieces are Filigreed Shadow Circlet, Black Handwraps and Shadow Leggings; Dustfall Robes and Condor Bracers keep stamina without abandoning spell power. Defiler’s Cloth Boots and Girdle are premium Arathi Basin pieces because they add spell power, armor, stamina, and the boots give run speed. Staff of Soran’ruk is the best all-round weapon here: big stamina plus both shadow and fire damage. Defiler’s Talisman is your anti-melee button, while Darkspear Voodoo Seal supplies stamina and mana sustain.

Keep Demon Armor and Soul Link up before fighting. Open by creating space, then Fear, apply the right curse, and keep Corruption rolling. Use Curse of Tongues into casters and healers; use Bane of Agony when you are free to pressure instead. Drain Life when trained or low, Drain Mana when a healer/caster cannot stop you, and Searing Pain only when you have mana and need quick pressure. Save Vengeance, Demonic Grace, Defiler’s Talisman and Fel Domination for kill attempts against you.
